What does it do?
One of the best, most effective ways to anti-age the skin, prescription strength tretinoin is the only ingredient that has been FDA approved to treat wrinkles. Tretinoin works in the dermis, or lower layer of the skin to encourage healthy collagen production resulting in firmer, more youthful skin, while simultaneously exfoliating and smoothing rough skin. When choosing a tretinoin cream, it’s the other 99.9% of the product that makes the difference. Obagi Tretinoin Cream offers a superior delivery system with maximum results.
Who is it for?
Tretinoin is intended for mature skin to fight the signs of aging by restoring firmness. It is appropriate for all skin types except for sensitive and rosacea-prone skin. The .025 formula is a perfect strength for those just starting a tretinoin treatment or for individuals with dry skin that is easily irritated by retinoids.
How should I use it?
Use only at night. After cleansing the skin, apply a light moisturizer to damp skin the immediately follow with tretinoin. Dispense a green pea- size amount and dot evenly all over face. Use fingertips to gently spread product. Avoid eyelids, nose creases, and nasolabial folds. If irritation occurs reduce frequency the slowly increase dosage to every night.
Important safety information:
While using Tretinoin, spend as little time in the sun as possible, use an effective broad spectrum sunscreen, and wear a hat even on cloudy days. Do not use sunlamps or tanning booths, and avoid extreme wind and cold. If you do get a sunburn, stop using Tretinoin until your skin is back to normal.
Tretinoin may cause skin irritation. Some patients may get dry, red or peeling skin that requires them to use less medication or use it less often, or stop use either temporarily or altogether. Patients who develop a rash or itchy skin should contact their healthcare provider. Do not use more Tretinoin, or use it more often, than your doctor has told you because it will not work better and may increase the irritation to your skin. Avoid use of other products that may dry or irritate your skin.
The safety and efficacy of Tretinoin have not been established in the treatment of patients younger than 10 years of age (Gel) or 12 years of age (Cream), or in pregnant or nursing women.
